Second was between the years 2015 to 2019 to provide financial resources to provide emergency relief work and reconstruction of 14 schools in Helambu, Melamchi and Paanchpokhari, that were destroyed by the 2015 earthquake. Third wave of support is starting 2019 to launch the Saathi Teachers Programme and it is still continuing from strength to strength.

School In a Bag

School In a Bag

School in a Bag began in 2009 as an initiative of the Piers Simon Appeal (PSA), inspired by a humanitarian project delivering school equipment to orphaned children in Swaziland. What started as simple red rucksacks filled with essential stationery and eating utensils soon grew into a powerful global movement supporting children’s right to education. By 2011, School in a Bag became its own brand, and in 2019 it was established as a standalone charity due to its growing global reach. The charity delivers individually numbered and trackable SchoolBags to disadvantaged children worldwide, working through trusted local partners to ensure transparency, community empowerment, and inclusive support regardless of race, religion, or politics. In 2012, School in a Bag partnered with HELP to extend its impact in Nepal. Through this partnership, SchoolBags were distributed to children from marginalized and underserved communities, supporting their access to basic educational resources and reinforcing a shared commitment to child rights and education.
