Since 2010, HELP has supported SEE graduates from underserved communities across Nepal by covering the cost of attendance at the higher secondary (+2) level. Over the years, this support has accompanied hundreds of students as they continued their education beyond school.
Through this long journey, one reality became clear: the challenge of attaining education at the undergraduate level persists. Bachelor’s degrees in Nepal typically require three to four years of study and sustained financial investment—something many families cannot afford. As a result, capable and motivated students are often forced to delay or abandon their academic aspirations.
Scholarships at the bachelor’s level remain limited nationwide, and the duration and cost of undergraduate education contribute to low enrollment and graduation rates. Without targeted support, many students risk seeing their education end at the higher secondary level.
In response, the Bachelor’s Level Scholarship Programme was developed with the support of InterHands, a valued partner. This programme is designed exclusively for past HELP SEE Scholarship recipients who aspire to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Nepal.
Each year, two exceptional former SEE scholars demonstrating strong merit and commitment will be selected. Each recipient will receive a scholarship valued at Rs. 550,000 (approximately USD 4,000), distributed over four or five years of undergraduate study. The scholarship may be used for tuition, accommodation, books, stationery, or to complement other scholarships.
Open to students from all academic disciplines, the programme places special emphasis on candidates from marginalized communities and remote regions. Through this initiative, HELP continues its mission of empowering students beyond Grade 12 and into higher education.

Applications are announced annually around October through HELP’s website, social media, and email to eligible scholars. Applicants must submit a complete application with all required documents by the stated deadline.

All applications are evaluated using a standardised scoring rubric to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.
Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an in-person interview. An additional interview is conducted with the candidate’s parent or guardian to better understand the family background, financial context, and level of support for the candidate’s education. Following the interviews, verification checks are carried out by contacting local ward offices, as well as the schools and colleges previously attended by the candidate, to confirm the information provided in the application.
The profiles of the top four to six candidates are reviewed by HELP’s Executive Committee. Following this final review, the selected awardees are announced.
Selected scholars are required to attend an orientation session and sign a scholarship agreement. The scholarship is disbursed in installments annually, and annual renewal is contingent upon the scholar’s academic progress and continued eligibility.
