Kumari Kavita Tamang

Programme Impact and Development Officer

Kumari Kavita Tamang holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and brings over 12 years of experience in the education sector, working closely with teachers, students, and communities. During her school years, she observed that underperforming students often received less attention, while academically talented students were prioritized. These experiences shaped her belief that every student deserves to be seen, heard, and supported, guiding her commitment to fairness and inclusivity in education.

She joined the Saathi Teachers Programme in 2019 as a first-cohort Saathi Teacher, drawn to its mission of holistic education. Believing that education should go beyond academics to include moral values and life skills, she helped students grow into responsible and compassionate individuals. After completing her two-year journey as a Saathi Teacher, she continued as a Teacher Development Coordinator. In her current role as Programme Impact and Development Officer, Kavita works across multiple programmes with a focus on impact assessment, teacher development, student wellbeing, and documentation. She finds this work meaningful as it strengthens teachers, supports students, and ensures programmes are guided by evidence and continuous learning. Driven by empathetic nature, positivity, and supportive approach, her strength lies in building strong and trusting relationships with teachers, students, and communities. Outside of work, she enjoys happiness-focused learning sessions and meditation, which inspire her personal growth and bring mindfulness into her professional life.
